Title I 2016 survey for Parents of Elementary, Intermediate and Middle School students

Title I school wide is a federal program designed to help all students reach high academic standards.  The purpose of this questionnaire is to gather information on how well the school communicates with parents.  Please take a few minutes to respond to the questions below.  Your feedback will be used to improve parent communication and parent involvement activities at the school.  Suggestions on how we can better help students at school and at home are welcome.  Thank you in advance for providing your input.

Early Entrance Into Kindergarten

LaBrae residents who have a child that turns five years old after August 1st but before December 31, 2016 may apply for screening to be considered for early entrance into kindergarten.  The needed forms can be found below or in the Bascom Elementary School office.  The completed referral form, early entrance surveys, and proof of residency should be turned in to the Bascom office or the Superintendent’s office.  Please refer any questions to the Bascom Principal, margaret [dot] kowachatlabrae [dot] school (subject: Re%3A%20Early%20Entrance%20Into%20Kindergarten) (Maggie Kowach), at 330-898-3041.

2016-2017 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year is currently being held for children living in the LaBrae School District.  All children must be 5 years old by August 1, 2016.  Please keep in mind summer is quickly approaching and in order to register your child before summer break you will need to register before June 10, 2016.   Please contact the Bascom Office (330) 898-3041 to set an appointment. School hours are from 8:15 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and appointments will be scheduled between those times. No evening appointments will be scheduled.

2014-2015 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and then from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bascom Elementary School.  Child must be 5 years old by August 1, 2014.  The following documents are needed at the time of registration:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Shot Record
  • 2 Recent Proofs of Residency (examples: utility bill, pay stub, property taxes, car insurance, and/or Ohio Job and Family Service paperwork)  
  • Custody Papers (if applicable)

LaBrae Acceleration Information

LaBrae Local Schools does provide opportunities for families to have their child, where appropriate, to be given consideration for academic acceleration.  Parents should read the District policy on acceleration.  Parents can access the policy through the following link:  LaBrae Board of Education Policies.  Once you are redirected to the policies, click on the policy section 5000 Students.  Find policy 5410: Promotion, Acceleration and Retention. 

Additionally, parents should read the acceleration  notice.  Should a parent like to make a referral, the parent can print off the referral form located on the District website and submit it to the building principal for consideration.
