Meet the Teacher Night

Bascom - Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 7-8:30 P.M.  Begins in the Gym with Principal Remarks/Refreshments/Staff Introductions.

Intermediate - August 20, 2015 6:00-7:00 P.M.  Begins in the Auditorium with Principal Remarks/Staff Introductions.

Middle School - Wednesday, August 26th from 6:30 pm-7:30 P.M.  Middle school parents will meet in the auditorium at 6:30 P.M.

High School - Wednesday, August 26th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Please bring your child's schedule to school that evening so you can visit with their teachers. The LHS night is an open event that allows parents to come and go during the scheduled time to meet with teachers and staff.

2014-2015 Bullying Report for LaBrae Local Schools

The attached report provides data on the types of bullying that occurred at LaBrae Local Schools during the 2014-2015 school year.  Information is also provided on the types of administrative action taken for various incidents.

Bascom Wins Book Fair Award

We are happy to announce Bascom Elementary has been awarded the Presidential Award for exceptional performance in the decorating category in the Scholastic Book Fair National Elementary School Contest.  Bascom's Library was transformed in the Magical Kingdom of Reading during the two week book fair.  The highlight of the decorations was the 10' magic fire breathing dragon that soared above book fair goers heads.  Bascom's Library will be awarded in $500.00 worth of Scholastic Book Bucks.

LaBrae Local Schools 2013-2014 Bullying Report

The attached report provides data on the types of bullying that occurred at LaBrae Local Schools during the 2013-2014 school year.  Information is also provided on the types of administrative action taken for various incidents.

Title I survey for Parents of Elementary, Intermediate and Middle School students

Title I school wide is a federal program designed to help all students reach high academic standards.  The purpose of this questionnaire is to gather information on how well the school communicates with parents.  Please take a few minutes to respond to the questions below.  Your feedback will be used to improve parent communication and parent involvement activities at the school.  Suggestions on how we can better help students at school and at home are welcome.  Thank you in advance for providing your input.

Parent Roadmaps to Understanding the Third Grade Reading Guarantee

2014-2015 Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and then from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bascom Elementary School.  Child must be 5 years old by August 1, 2014.  The following documents are needed at the time of registration:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Social Security Card
  • Shot Record
  • 2 Recent Proofs of Residency (examples: utility bill, pay stub, property taxes, car insurance, and/or Ohio Job and Family Service paperwork)  
  • Custody Papers (if applicable)

LaBrae Acceleration Information

LaBrae Local Schools does provide opportunities for families to have their child, where appropriate, to be given consideration for academic acceleration.  Parents should read the District policy on acceleration.  Parents can access the policy through the following link:  LaBrae Board of Education Policies.  Once you are redirected to the policies, click on the policy section 5000 Students.  Find policy 5410: Promotion, Acceleration and Retention. 

Additionally, parents should read the acceleration  notice.  Should a parent like to make a referral, the parent can print off the referral form located on the District website and submit it to the building principal for consideration.
