There will be Early Release at 12:00 Tomorrow, October 12th for Parent/Teacher Conferences.  

 

Also there will be no school on Friday, October 13th.

 

It's Scholastic Book Fair Time!

Come to the LaBrae High School Library October 12 -20, 2023 from 7:30 am - 2:30.  On Parent/Teacher Conference Night, October 12th the library will be open from 2:00-9:00 pm.

Come to the fair & choose the books you love!  You can also order on line at:  https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/labraehighschool1.

 

Envirothon News:

There will be a meeting Tomorrow, October 12th during lunch.  Sign up outside of Mr. Michl;s Room 926.

There are 2 open spots for the JV Squad!

Clinics & Tryouts will be Saturday, October 14th from 10 am - 2 pm.

 

Ursuline College Writing Contest:

Open to all high school students, writers can submit either a poem, short story, essay or memoir for Ursuline College's annual writing contest.

"We've gone to the future and back to the past, let's focus on NOW.  Reimagine the present with Inscape."

Submissions are limited to 500 words

Three winners will be selected and published in Ursuline's annual literacy magazine, Inscape.

Cash prizes available:

$100 first place

$50 second place

$25 third place

Submissions are due before January 12, 2024.

Kent State application Fees Waived: from October 1 - November 1, 2023!

Apply to Kent State for free through the Kent State App or the Common App.

Students will bypass the payment screens so no codes are needed.  Remember, November 1st is the priority application date.

 

VFW Voice of Democracy...

If you are interested in writing & recording an essay about "What are the greatest attributes of our democracy", stop in the School Counselor's Office for an entry form!  The patriotic audio essay competition Grand Prize is $35,000.00.

 

Art Contest:

The VFW Auxiliary National Scholarship is offering a Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest!  You could be awarded $15,000.00!!!  Stop in the School Counselor's Office to pick up an entry form!

 

Afternoon Detention will be in Room 805A with Mrs. Wolke in the Middle School.  Please bring academic work to detention.
